Akeelah Anderson (Keke Palmer), an 11-year-old girl living in South Los Angeles, discovers she has a talent for spelling, which she hopes will take her to the National Spelling Bee. Despite her mother’s objections, Akeelah doesn’t give up on her goal. With help from a mysterious teacher, and overwhelming support from her community, Akeelah might just have what it takes to make her dream come true! (1 hr 52 min.)
Doors Open at 6:30 pm. The movie begins at 7:00 pm. $10 at the door includes popcorn and soda, and children 16 and under are free! We will also have a cash bar.
