Ms. Price, born in Mississippi in 1927 is one of the most beloved and famous sopranos of the 20th Century. Her expressive range was unparalleled. She could hit high C & D pianissimos. Her projection was perfect with astonishing breath control. She made her Metropolitan opera debut in 1961.
